A Beautiful Course!
Harrington Waters Golf Course is a picturesque, beautifully
presented 9-hole golf course with 18 separate tees that play from
different angles and distances, adding to the challenge of your round.
|
 Hole 1/ Hole 10
394m Par 4 / 434m Par 5 for Men
346m Par 4 / 366m Par 5 for Ladies
Beautifully manicured couch fairways, snaking away from the tees,
fairway bunkers set to catch the wayward drive but just out of range
for the average player. This hole also presents with a water hazard
that runs the full length of the hole, which meets up with a beach
style bunker adjacent to the first green.
Pro’s Tip: Play your percentage club on this hole attempting to lay up
on the left side for the average player, which will allow you a better
angle for your 3rd shot to the green. (Playing the left side is your
safe option).
|
Hole 2 /
Hole 11
157m Par 3 / 155m Par 3 for Men
120m Par 3 / 134m Par 3 for Ladies
A challenging Par 3 where the front of the green is guarded by 2
bunkers with just enough room for a well hit shot to pass through on
to the green. Water plays down the right side also on this lovely Par
3, plenty of area to the left of the green for the safe shot.
Pro's Tip: Tee up on the right side of the tee, this will assist in
aiming over to the open areas left of the green. Therefore if you do
happen to hit your shot a little right, you should not go in the water
hazard.
|
Hole 3 /
Hole 12
330m Par 4 / 332m Par 4 for Men
303m Par 4 / 286m Par 4 for Ladies
This shorter Par 4 takes the pressure off for a hole. Playing with a
generous fairway, where you can see two fairway bunkers in the
distance, not in play for most golfers with a 230m carry to reach
them. The lake does flow down the right side, but it is a good 50m
from the centre of the fairway.
Pro's Tip: Hit it hard and go for it! Take advantage of an open short
hole…birdie time!

|
459m Par 5 / 451m Par 5 for Men
417m Par 5 / 400m Par 5 for Ladies
The 4th hole is a tight Par 5 which demands driving accuracy with two
pot style fairway bunkers down the left and the lake running down the
whole right side. The 3rd shot opens up a little more which takes the
pressure off a little.
Pro's Tip: This may sound like a tough hole, which it is, but if you
play your safe club it will be fine. Look at playing to your handicap,
not the par of this hole and you will find that it is not all that
tough, with it playing as a short Par 5.
|
Hole 5 /
Hole 14
447m Par 5 / 390m Par 4 for Men
329m Par 4 / 305m Par 4 for Ladies
The 5th hole is a straight hole with hazards that run both sides of
the fairway, only greenside bunkers on this hole. There is a Byrne
running across the fairway approximately 50m from the green, again
this sounds hard but the fairway with no bunkers is more than
generous.
Pro's Tip: Being a short Par 5 for the men on the 5th, it is not
necessary to hit driver off this tee, especially when you will have to
lay up to the Byrne 50m from the green, so safe play is warranted and
rewarded on this hole.
|
Hole 6 /
Hole 15
148m Par 3 / 154m Par 3 for Men
122m Par3 / 134m Par 3 for Ladies
This hole is one of the most stunning holes on the golf course. Two
bunkers either side of the green and water long over the back. Plenty
of room short of the green and the front of the green is a generous
size.
Pro Tip: Don’t over club; you would want to play to the front of this
hole, leaving yourself with a short chip or a putt up a slight slope.
|
Hole 7 /
Hole 16
315m Par 4 / 296m Par 4 for Men
278m Par 4 / 273m Par 4 for Ladies
The shortest Par 4 on the course which tends to play down wind most of
the time. Water on the left side for a change, slight dogleg to the
left as you follow the shape of the lake. There is one greenside
bunker on the left side with plenty of room to the right for your shot
to the large green.
Pro's Tip: Choose a fairway wood or a long iron off this tee; this
should leave you an 8 or 9 Iron onto the green.
|
Hole 8 /
Hole 17
356m Par 4 / 363m Par 4 for the Men
341m Par 4 / 350m Par 5 for the Ladies
The 8th / 17th hole is a good challenging Par 4, especially for the
ladies. There is a large fairway bunker on the right side and it comes
into play for the long hitters, 232m to reach this bunker. Water runs
down the left side of this hole and there is a Byrne 60m short of the
green. The green has 2 bunkers to the left side and a grassy mound to
the right. This is a long green that has a step running diagonally
across the front quarter.
Pro's Tip: Approach this green from the right side if you can, try to
keep the ball below the hole.
|
Hole 9 /
Hole 18
339m Par 4 / 370m Par 4 for the Men
303m Par 4 / 350m Par 4 for the Ladies
This hole presents you with a wide fairway that has a cluster of
bunkers down the left side. One cluster at 142m, the 2nd cluster at
185m from the Men’s 9th tee. It also has 1 lone pot bunker at 181m on
the right side. This sounds tight, but there is plenty of room past
the bunkers. It opens up approaching the fairly large green; there is
one bunker short left and one back right. This hole also has water
down the right, which will only come into play if you hit a wayward
shot.
Pro's Tip: If you feel the fairway bunkers come into play for you, lay
it up as there is only 150m to the green from there. Keep the ball
down the left side; this will give you a much better angle to approach
the green.
